Welcome to The Nurtons
Organic B&B and Retreat Centre overlooking Tintern in the Beautiful Wye Valley
Situated on a gently sloping south facing hillside, the Nurtons is the oldest house in Tintern with parts dating back to the 12th century or earlier: the site itself dating back to at least the Roman era.
The house has a colourful history. Some of the famous names associated with the Nurtons include the Princes in the Tower, the Herbert family (some of whom were Earls of Pembroke) and the three friends Oliver Lodge, Arthur Conan Doyle and Edward Elgar.
By the very nature of the house, each comfortable en-suite room has its own unique character.
Away from the main road (with ample off-road parking), peace and tranquility may be found in 30 acres of secluded garden and woodland. The views of the valley are breathtaking.
In keeping with our way of life, your food is grown organically and our heating derives mostly from wood and solar panels. We invite you to recycle as much as possible.
We are ideally placed to enjoy many local walks and attractions including the Wye Valley Walk, Offa's Dyke Path, Tintern Abbey, the Forest of Dean and the impressive castles of the Welsh Marches.
You are of course welcome to relax and unwind all day at the Nurtons in the house and gardens.
