Welcome to The Nurtons
Elsa, Adrian and Gemma Wood welcome you to The Nurtons.
- Situated on the gentle south-facing slopes of the picturesque Wye Valley area of outstanding natural beauty, close to the village of Tintern.
- Standing on an ancient site dating back to Roman times (or earlier), the Victorian frontage conceals much older features including a recently re-discovered healing bath.
- The house has a colourful history associated with The Princes in the Tower, the Herbert family and, more recently, physicist Sir Oliver Lodge, Sherlock Holmes author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and composer Sir Edward Elgar.
Today we are in the process of uncovering some of the ancient features of the house, but alongside this we provide comfortable accommodation.
- By the very nature of the house each Bed and Breakfast (B&B) room is completely different in character.
- We offer tranquility and quiet seclusion with a 2.5 acre garden to explore and relax in.
- The land has been run organically for over 40 years and we live in an environmentally-friendly way as possible.
- There are many woodland walks and nearby sights, such as Tintern Abbey and the impressive castles of the Welsh Marches.
- For extra pampering massage and reflexology are also available.
